The 4th Annual Rock N Ribs Battle of the Bands and Rib Burn Off returns to the beautiful campus of Marion Technical College and The Ohio State University at Marion, Route 95 in Maion (1/4 mile west of Route 23) on Saturday August 1st, 2009.

The full day event starts at 10:30am, and is expected to end at 11:00pm.
Admission is just $3 per person for the entire day.

This year, there are actually three distinct parts of Rock'N'Ribs to enjoy.

THE BATTLE

The Battle of the Bands begins at high noon, when the first of 12 competing bands take the stage. Each band will perform a 20 minute set. Following the
12 performances, one band will win a professional recording session from Jester's Court Recording Studio, be invited to next year's battle as a featured band, and win the Rock'n"Ribs Battle of the Band" champion.

Following the "Battle", last year's champion "Scene of the Crime" will perform. A Led Zeppelin tribute band will finish stage entertainment for the day.

THE RIB BURN OFF

Up to 10 area vendors will offer ribs and other food items for sale. The ribs will be judged by a panel of community memebers, with one being named Rib Champion. This year's rib champion will also get a $500 first place prize with their trophy. Streetwise Motors is providing the Rib Burn Off prize money. While ribs will certainly be plentiful, there should be a variety of foods for the whole family to enjoy.

Along with food vendors, cold beverages well also be available. Patrons visiting the event wishing to purchase beer should make sure they bring an I.D.

THE CAR SHOW

New this year, will be a car show, located in the front lawn area of the campus. A variety of classic vehicle's will be on display for your enjoyment.

Visitor admission to the car show is free. Visitors wishing to go from the car show to the Rock'n'Ribs area will be charged the $3 admission fee.
